Stefan Mörtel's practice at MKM + PARTNER focuses on the development and implementation of corporate law measures, advising clients in customs and duty proceedings, drafting and preparing complex contracts, and handling legal matters in the areas of tax, commercial and corporate law, and information technology.
In particular, tax and corporate law advice in connection with the sale, acquisition, merger and restructuring of companies (mergers and acquisitions) is a key focus of his legal practice. In addition to his legal practice, Stefan Mörtel serves on supervisory boards across various industries.
After studying law at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Stefan Mörtel was admitted to the bar in Nuremberg in 1995. He subsequently joined an interdisciplinary business law firm comprising auditors, tax advisors and lawyers. Between 1997 and 2002, he headed the legal advisory division as the responsible partner. In 2002, Stefan Mörtel joined the business law firm RMH as a partner. Together with his long-standing colleagues Burkhard Krecichwost and Thilo Märtin, he founded MKM+PARTNER at the end of 2015.
Stefan Mörtel obtained the specialist lawyer qualification in tax law ("Fachanwalt für Steuerrecht") in 1999. Alongside his professional activities, he successfully completed the written examinations for the specialist lawyer qualification in commercial and corporate law ("Fachanwalt für Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht") in 2006 and the specialist lawyer qualification in information technology law ("Fachanwalt für Informationstechnologierecht") in 2007.
